  • Co-President Candidate, Shahmeer Halepota ---

"Prior to law school, I was a Director of the Fund for Education and Development in Sindh, a non-profit organization which sought to raise literacy in rural Pakistan, and on the Advisory Board for the Sindhi American Political Action Committee. While at Emory University, I interned with the Human Rights Department of the Carter Center and the ACLU of Georgia. I was also a member of the President's Commission on Race and Ethnicity and the President of Omicron Delta Kappa. At Berkeley Law, I am a member of BJIL, JMEIL, MOCA, MELSA, SALSA, CFD (Treasurer), and BMSA (President). I am running on the Unity Slate to ensure accountability from the administration, and transparency from the BHSA in order to promote open access for all." --Shahmeer Halepota

  • Co-President Candidate, Sonja Tonnesen ---

"Before coming to Boalt, I taught urban gardening and nutrition in the public K-12 School District of Philadelphia. My students taught me how to love bigger, dream bigger, and dance better. While an undergrad at UPenn, I was a leader in Take Back the Night, the Vagina Monologues, the Penn Monologues, the Urban Nutrition Initiative, and the Undergraduate Assembly. At Boalt, I have been actively involved in the Gender Journal (Article Editor), Queer Caucus (Fellowship Chair), Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice (Civil Rights Research Fellow), Advocates for Youth Justice (co-chair) and Juvenile Hall Outreach, Boalt Hall Women's Association (Activism Chair), California Law Review (Development Editor), STOP DV and Domesic Violence  Practicum, Bay Area Legal Aid, and the Vagina Monologues @ Boalt. I am running for BHSA so I can help make Berkeley Law a more inclusive, more responsive law school to our passionate and diverse student body community." --Sonja Tonnesen

  • Vice-President Candidate, Anisha Gupta ---

"Dear fellow Boalties, my name is Anisha Gupta and I'm running as part of the UNITY slate to ensure that politicized organizations committed to social justice continue to have a strong voice in the Berkeley Law community and administration." --Anisha Gupta

  • Secretary Candidate, May Whitaker ---

"I am running as part of the Solidarity! slate because I am committed to promoting a multiplicity of voices and viewpoints here at Boalt. I am also a huge civics and politics nerd and love to have debates about the role of government, at all levels. That debate is made most effective when there is transparency and accountability at all levels. I believe that as Secretary, I can help the Association realize those goals of good government and diversity." --May Whitaker

  • Treasurer (Write-in) CandidateAnn Mary Olson
